sustainable fashion
Sustainable Apparel is more and more important in this world. It has become a new trend that guides people’s consumption. In America, an average of 70 pounds of clothing and textiles were thrown away by each US citizen. Only 3.5 million tons of postconsumer textile waste recycled from 21.8 million tons of textile products. 84% of these textile and apparel sent to landfills in 2012 accounting of 5% of the landfill waste. Due to fast-fashion apparels increasing prominence, the waste increased by 40% in 2019. And sadly only had 15% of the textile waste was diverted from the landfill, even though most of textiles were reusable. Textile waste recycled will be into second-hand apparel export, downcycled, or upcycling process.
